Repair and Service

We provide expert violin, cello and guitar repairs & evaluation and have a specialist fretted instrument, woodwind and brass repairers off-site for those tricky, hard to touch jobs. We also specialise in instrument evaluation. Mostly, you'll always find our repair rates are highly competitive and quick turn-around.

Quotations are necessarily limited to in store, so we can properly assess your instrument and advise on appropriate action.

Repairs and Servicing we can do for you:

• Guitar and Amplifier
  Peter Meyer, resident guitar builder and guitar technician can help with most problem solving. Some of the more complex jobs will be contracted out at special rates to Soundworks, Melbourne's premier repair specialists.
  
  Services include: restring, set-up and adjustments to action, fret dressing, refretting and fingerboard shaping, setting intonation and harmonics, rewiring electronics, customising guitars, restorations.
  
  
• Violin
  Hans has been Repairing & Setting up Stringed instruments since 1973, and now his son Peter is taking on many of the higher repair tasks. Some more complex repairs will be contracted out at special rates to Brendon or Nick Fyfield Melbourne's finest Violin repair specialists.
  
  Services include:restring and peg ream, set-up and adjustments to action,refile new bridge, refile new saddle and shape new pegs.
  
  
• Cello and Bass
  Hans has been Repairing & Setting up Stringed instruments since 1973, and now his son Peter is taking on many of the higher repair tasks. Some more complex repairs will be contracted out at special rates to Brendon or Nick Fyfield Melbourne's only Violin repair specialists.
  
  Services include:restring and peg ream, set-up and adjustments to action,refile new bridge, refile new saddle and shape new pegs.
  
  
• Woodwind and Brass
  Only the most trusted and most experienced repairers in Melbourne are contracted at special rates for Hans Music Spot, Brian Murphy and/or Steve and David Wright.
  
  Services include:adjustments to action and oil, clean and polish, recorking keys and joints, respringing, repadding and overhaul, dint and damage repair, resoldering joints and keys, full restorations.
